Bridging Communities, Policy, and Climate Action
The People’s Climate Diplomacy Program (PCDP) is a youth-led initiative equipping young climate advocates—especially from underrepresented communities—with the tools, training, and support to engage meaningfully in global climate negotiations. Through structured mentorship and participation in key UNFCCC meetings like SB62 and COP30, we ensure young voices are not only heard but help shape international climate policy.
Climate diplomacy is often exclusive—limited by financial, structural, and procedural barriers. Youth, especially from the Global South, Indigenous groups, and grassroots movements, are too often left out. PCDP changes this. We focus on civil society spaces within the UNFCCC, where much of the real influence happens, and equip youth to organize, campaign, and advocate for just, community-led climate solutions.
● Train: Advocacy, campaigning, policy tracking, and negotiation skills. Focus areas include Mitigation, Just Transition, and Climate Finance.● Engage: Active participation at SB62 and campaigns pushing for justice at COP30. Full logistical support, mentoring, and real-time negotiation engagement.● Campaign: Develop and run initiatives like “Just Finance for Just Transition” and “Equitable Fossil Fuel Phase-Out.”● Sustain: Create alumni networks to support ongoing youth leadership in climate diplomacy.
The first cohort of the People’s Climate Diplomacy Program (PCDP) was selected through a by-nomination-only process. This pilot group brings together eight young climate advocates from across the globe, each with a strong track record in activism, policy engagement, and civil society organizing.
We’re excited to soon introduce the full global cohort, representing diverse regions, movements, and lived experiences within the climate justice space.
We’re building a new generation of grassroots climate diplomats—ones grounded in justice, solidarity, and real-world impact. Want to support our work? Contact us at [email protected] to create a more inclusive future for climate diplomacy.
